Training Your Team with the Scilife Academy

The Scilife Academy provides a certification per user role for each Scilife module: Administrator, Manager, Regular User and Read-Only User. During onboarding, the people configuring the system complete the Administrator certifications. The same Academy can train the rest of your organisation, and the completion certificate serves as training evidence.

There are two ways to use it.

Option A: Run the training inside Scilife

This keeps the training record in your Trainings module, like any other training.

1. Create a training in the Trainings module for the module and role you want to cover (for example "Scilife Document Control for Regular Users").
2. Add an External Link Task pointing to the Academy certification. See Can I include links to online contents in a Training?.
3. Add a Training Task in which the trainee uploads their Academy certificate as proof of completion. See Configuring Training Tasks and How do I upload my training certificate in a Training Task?.
4. Assign the training to the relevant users or user functions. For general guidance, see Best Practices for Training Creation.

Option B: Share the certification link directly

If you prefer to manage training outside the platform, or your users are not yet in Scilife, share the certification link and collect the certificates as evidence in your current system.

How to find the certification you need

Your Onboarding Project Manager shares the links to the Administrator certifications for the modules in your subscription. To find the certifications for other roles:

1. Create an Academy account, or sign in, at user-academy.scilife.io. See How to Access the Scilife Academy.

2. Click Classroom > Certifications.

   

3. Select the module(s) you are interested in.

   

4. Select the certification for the user role you want to train.

   

5. Copy the link and share it with the people who should complete it. They will need to create their own Academy account first (step 1).

   

Note: Academy credentials are separate from your Scilife login. Each person creates their own Academy account, and Academy passwords are not shared with your Scilife environment.

Good to know

• Start end-user training early. Once your platform configuration is stable, users can begin the certifications for their role even before go-live; leaving training until the last weeks is a common cause of go-live delays.
• Read-Only users have their own certification. It is short and covers what they actually do in Scilife (finding and reading documents, acknowledging trainings), so it works well for large groups such as sales or operations staff.
• If a colleague has limited system access or works mainly on paper, they can still complete the Academy certification, and a colleague with Scilife access can record the result for them.
