Configuring Training Tasks

  • Updated

Trainings can include Documents, External Links and also Training Tasks. Let's say a Training for Scilife is set up. Trainees may be assigned to read Training Documentation, access the recorded Training video in an External Link and finally to carry out different exercises in Scilife for which they will be asked to upload proof. These exercises can be set up as Training Tasks.

How to create a Training Task

You can add a Task to a Training either when you are first creating the Training or at a later stage by editing an existing Training.

Adding the Task when creating a New Training

  1. Go to Trainings > Trainings.
  2. Click on the New + icon.

In the Training Details Form:

  2. On the right-hand side of the Configuration Form, click on the Training Materials tab.
  3. Click on the + Task tab.

Fill out the Task Fields:

  1. Give the Task a Title.
  2. Fill out the Task Description if you would like to add some information to the Trainees. This is not mandatory.
  3. You can choose whether or not you want to add a Task Supervisor to the Task. This can be particularly interesting if Trainees are asked to upload proof that they have carried out the Task. Once users have indicated the Task is done, the Task Supervisor will verify that these have been carried out correctly; also the Task Supervisor will have to Approve the Task for each Trainee before it is marked as completed.
  4. Save once you are finished editing the Training.

Trainees will see the Training in their Dashboard and will be able to confirm the Task is done in the Training Materials Tab on the Training Details Page. Tasks are to be found at the bottom of the Training Materials Tab.

Adding a Task to an existing Training

You can add a Task to an existing Training by editing the Training Details Form.

  1. Go to Trainings > Trainings.
  2. In the Trainings List, use the Filters and/or Search field to find the Training you wish to add a Task to.
  3. Once you have found it, click on the Actions button.
  4. Click on Edit.
