  • Updated

In the User Functions & Trainings tab of a User's profile, there are two different ways to assign trainings to that user, automatic or manual.

Automatic Training Assignment

By default, the toggle is OFF and it is assigned automatically. This means that this user will see the trainings on a one-by-one a basis. In other words, no further action is needed. (1)

With Training assignment set on Automatic it is also possible to decide whether to have all trainings started simultaneously or not. To start all trainings at once, leave the Commence All Trainings switch ON as per default settings. (2)

For more information on each training's start date, consult each individual training. The assignment of automatic trainings works in accordance with each respective training's start date, thus consider the start date when ordering the trainings.

Manual Training Assignment

The Manual training assignment method requires further action from a Training Coordinator or the User's Manager as outlined in the User's Profile>User Functions & Trainings tab. Managers and Regular Users may be able to do this if it is configured on the back end that they have the rights provided in MANAGE > Scilife Settings > Permission Settings > General > Create/edit/delete users allowed by.

How to Start a Training for Manual Training Assignment

1) Go to MANAGE > Scilife Settings

2) Go to Users

3) Search for the user in question

4) Click on the Actions button

5) Click on View

6) Open the Trainings tab

7) Select the Start All Trainings button to begin all trainings or select the Start button in the Action column for each individual training

8) Select Yes in the Confirm popup to start respective trainings

The system will record the assignment and manual starting of any trainings in the audit trail and an email notification will be sent to the trainee once their training has started.

Relevant for: Administrators / Training Coordinators (Manager) / (Regular User)
Please note: By default, Administrators/Training Coordinators can do this. For Managers and Regular Users, it depends if this is configured so that they have the rights provided in MANAGE > Scilife Settings > Permission Settings > General > Create/edit/delete users allowed by.
