Can I delete Products / Services / Projects?

Products / Services / Projects can be deleted as long as they have not been used in any item such as a CAPA, an Event, or a Change Request. 

In this case, the system will not allow you to delete it and the best solution is to disable the Product / Service / Project.

How to delete a Product/Service/Project

  1. Go to MANAGE > Scilife Settings.
  2. Go to Products / Services / Projects.
  3. Use the Search field to find the Product / Service / Project you wish to delete.
  4. Select it by clicking on the check box.
  5. Go to the With Selected drop-down at the bottom of the list and select Delete.
  6. Click on Apply.

In the Products deletion form:

  1. Sign off electronically.
  2. Include a Remark on why the Product / Service / Project is to be deleted.
  3. Sign.

If the action was successful the system will give you the following notification: Deleted successfully 1 of the 1 selected Products/Services/Projects.

 

Why do I get the message Deleted successfully 0 of the 1 selected Products / Services / Projects?

You can only delete Products / Services / Projects that have not been used in any item: CAPA, Events, or Change Request.

If the Product / Service / Project has been included in any of these items you will get the message indicated above and it will be impossible to delete the Product / Service / Project. In this case, the best solution is to disable it instead.

How to disable a Product / Service / Project

  1. Go to MANAGE > Scilife Settings.
  2. Go to Products / Services / Projects.
  3. Use the Search field to find the Product / Service / Project you wish to delete.
  4. Select it by clicking on the check box.
  5. Go to the With Selected drop-down at the bottom of the list and select Disable.
  6. Click on Apply.

As soon as you click on Apply the system will give you the following notification: Disabled successfully 1 of the 1 selected Products / Services / Projects. 

It is not necessary to sign off in order to disable a Product / Service / Project.

The Product / Service / Project will now indicate Yes in the Disabled column in the Product / Service / Project list:

  Relevant for: Administrators / Managers.
  Please note:
  • Disabled Products / Services / Projects will no longer appear when you are editing an Event, CAPA, or Change Request. This means disabled Products / Services / Projects cannot be chosen and added to any of these items by mistake.
  • If you wish to enable the Product / Service / Project again later on you can do so by following the same steps as described for Disabling but choosing Enable instead in the With Selected drop-down at the bottom of the list.
  • Deleted Products / Services / Projects can be restored from the Deleted Items section if needed.
