How do I Remove Users from Groups?

  • Updated

There are basically two ways in which you can remove a User from a Group; either by editing the Users Profile or directly from the User List.

Removing a User from Group(s) through the User Profile

  1. Go to MANAGE > Scilife Settings.
  2. Go to Users.
  3. In the User List, use the Filters and/or the Search field to find the User you wish to Remove from Group(s).
  4. In the List of Users, click on the Actions button of the User you want to Remove from one or more Groups.
  5. Click on Edit.

  1.  In the User Profile, go to the Groups segment, and deselect the Group(s).
  2. Save.

  Please note:
  • As an Administrator, you can Remove a User from a Group that has not been assigned to you by editing the User Profile.
  • Only Users that are allowed to edit User profiles in the Manage section can remove Users from Group(s) through the User Profile.
  • If a User has participated in any way in an item (Document, Training, Event, CAPA, etc.) linked to the Group from which you want to delete him, you will see that the check mark is a lighter green. This means that the Group is blocked for that User and he cannot be removed from the Group (see below).

Removing a User from Group(s) through the User List

  4. Select the User you want to Remove from a Group by clicking the checkbox to the left of the User's name.
  5. In the With Selected drop-down menu at the bottom of the list, select Remove from Group(s).

Finally, you will be asked to Confirm.

Please note: When Removing User(s) from Groups through the User List, you can only Remove the User from Groups that are also assigned to you, otherwise you will get the result No matches found. In other words, if you are only assigned i.e. to the General Group then you will only be able to remove the User from the General Group. This is also the case for Administrators.

Removing Users in bulk from Group(s) through the User List

You can Remove Users in bulk from one or more Groups by selecting various Users in the User List and following the same steps mentioned above.

  3. In the User List, use the Filters and/or the Search field to find the Users you wish to Remove from Group(s).
  4. Select the Users you want to Remove from a Group by clicking on the checkbox to the left of each of their names.
