Steps to Delete a Document Type
- Go to Documents > Document Types.
- Use the Filters and/or Search field to find the Document Type you wish to Delete.
- Select the Document Type by clicking on the check box to the left of its title.
- Go to the With Selected drop-down at the bottom of the List and select Delete.
- Click Apply.
In the next window:
- Sign off electronically in order to confirm the deletion.
- Add a Remark explaining why the Document Type is being deleted.
- Save.
The system will then confirm Deleted successfully 1 out of 1 selected Document Types.
Deleting Document Types in bulk
Document Types can be Deleted in bulk by following the same steps as above but selecting various Document Types at the same time:
- Go to Documents > Document Types.
- Use the Filters and/or Search field to find the Document Types you wish to Delete.
- Select the Document Types by clicking on the checkboxes to the left of each of the Document Types you wish to Delete.
- Go to the With Selected drop-down at the bottom of the List and select Delete.
- Click Apply.
Then in the newt window:
- Sign off electronically in order to confirm the deletion.
- Add a Remark explaining why the Document Types are being deleted.
- Save.
Relevant for: Administrators / Managers
Please note: You will not be able to delete a Document Type if there are Documents based on this Document Type. Please bear in mind that this also includes Obsolete Documents. You can check for Obsolete Documents by using the Status filter and selecting Obsolete Documents. Before Deleting the Document Type you must first delete the Documents.
