Printing Documents in Document Control
Documents in Document Control can be printed by clicking on the print icon on the left-hand side of the Document Details Page:
In the next window you will be asked to Select Print Log Type and indicate whether you wish to carry out a Controlled Print or a Regular Print:
The only difference between Controlled Prints and Regular Prints is that with Controlled Prints you will be asked to provide the location where the print will be stored:
Document Status
Both Regular Prints as well as Controlled Prints can be carried out for Documents in Approved not Published, Published and Obsolete status.
Status watermark on prints
When printed, the Document will have a watermark on every page, indicating if the Document status.
Append Signature Page
If needed you can add an extra page for signatures in a Document by turning the Append Signature Page switch ON. The page will be added as the last page to the PDF.
Once printed, Users with a role in the Document will be able to sign off on the physical printed version.
Destroying prints
Controlled and Regular Prints can be marked as destroyed in Scilife.
On virtually destroying a print you will be asked to confirm this action and provide your digital signature.
As Controlled Prints are also required to be given a location further details about your controlled prints can be viewed from the Controlled Print List:
The controlled print list can also be exported.
- All User Types can carry out Regular Prints, regardless of having a role in the Document or not.
- Administrators and Managers can carry out Controlled Prints, regardless of having a role in the Document or not. Regular Users can also carry out a Controlled Print if they have a role in the Document (Author, Reviewer, Approver, or QA).
