Print & Reconciliation - Spooler Service Logging

  • Updated

Overview

  • The Print & Reconciliation (P&R) tool uses its own spooler service to handle print jobs. First, the spooler service starts in the background, and then the P&R application opens. This service is important because it receives the print command and sends the document to the P&R application for printing.
  • This service is responsible for receiving print jobs from the system and triggering the P&R popup with the correct document and print details.
  • Only after the spooler is running does the application begin handling print jobs.

Dependency Behavior

  • If the P&R Spooler Service is not running, the application won’t detect any print jobs.
  • This usually results in the P&R popup not showing up after you try to print a document.

Recommended Steps if Print Doesn’t Work

If you send a document to print and nothing happens:

  • Open Task Manager by pressing Ctrl + Shift + Esc.
  • Go to the “Processes” tab.
  • Search for “PnrSpooler Service” in the list.
  • Check if it is running.
  • If the service is running properly, try printing the document again.

Conclusion

The P&R Spooler Service is a critical part of the P&R Application. It must be running before print jobs can be received and processed. If the service is stopped or crashes, the application may fail to process documents.
